Deploy an app

Putting your app onto a server so people can open it at a real URL.

Definition

To deploy an app is to take the code that works in a preview, editor, or local folder and put it onto a server where it runs continuously at a URL. Deploy is the step between “the AI built it” and “the team can use it.” A good deploy also wires HTTPS, environment settings, and whatever database the app needs, then leaves you a way to update and roll back later.

Why it matters

Many vibe-coding sessions stop one step short of useful: the prototype exists, but nobody else can open it safely. Deploy is that missing step. For internal tools, deploy should mean private hosting and team share, not only “make it public on the internet.” Clear deploy habits plus version control and rollback keep AI changes from becoming production surprises.

How Croft fits

On Croft you connect your assistant and ask it to deploy. The app lands on your private server with company login, data, and backups already handled. You are not assembling cloud services or babysitting servers. See How it works and the internal-tool deploy guide for the flow.

FAQ

Frequently asked questions

What does it mean to deploy an app?

It means publishing the app to a server so it has a lasting URL and runs for the people who need it.

Can an AI deploy the app for me?

Yes, if your hosting platform accepts deploys from the assistant. Croft is designed so your AI can build and deploy onto your croft.

What should happen after I deploy an internal tool?

Invite the right people, confirm access control, and know how to roll back if a later change breaks something.

Stake out your croft.

Your team's first app could be live before lunch.
