Setting up the MCP

MCP is the common language AI assistants use to work with outside tools — and your croft is one of them. Connect once, then build by chatting.

Your connection link
https://mcp.oncroft.net

Find your croft's exact link in your dashboard under Connect an AI assistant and copy it from there.

How it works

You don't need to understand MCP to use it. You paste one link into your assistant's connector settings, sign in to your croft once, and from then on "build me an app that…" ends with a working link on your croft. The same link works for any assistant that speaks MCP — connect more than one if you like; they all build onto the same croft, behind the same login.

The three steps

  1. Copy your connection link. Find it in your dashboard under Connect an AI assistant (it looks like the link above).
  2. Add it to your assistant. Open your assistant's connector settings and add a custom connector pointing at that link. Step-by-step guides are below.
  3. Sign in and allow tools. Sign in to your croft when prompted, and choose "Always allow" for tool permissions so your assistant can build, deploy, and fix without stopping to ask at every step.

Step-by-step for your assistant

Pick the assistant you're connecting for the exact clicks:

What you'll need

An account with the assistant you connect: Claude (free plan or better), ChatGPT (Plus or better), Grok (free plan or better). Claude and Grok work on their free plans; ChatGPT needs Plus or better, because its connector support isn't on the free tier.

Stake out your croft.

Your team's first app could be live before lunch.
